...that certain song that,when you hear it takes you back to a place,or a time,or makes you thing of someone in particular( for good or bad)I have several myself,here's one-
Motley Crue "Home Sweet Home"....everytime i hear it,i'm taken back to the flight deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf,towards the end of my first "west-pac"(a six month west pacific deployment)I believe it was late '97( i'm fuzzy with dates)during a particularly beautiful sunset the Captain came on the ship-wide speaker to address the crew"Good evening ladeis and gentelmen,i have just been informed by the Captian of the USS Kitty Hawk,that they have entered our airspace.We are officialy releived"The announcement was immeadeatly followed by "Home Sweet Home".People were high fiving and singing along allover the ship!It was over a month later till we actualy arrived back in San Diego,which included 4 days in Austalia and a full week in Hawaii, but that took nothing away from the awesomeness of that moment.I will never forget it.

Wow great question. I have so many, but the main one...my drunk song. Back when the fiance and I used to party like crazy this was the song that always got us home; Neuroticfish - Velocity

I used to have night terrors as a kid where I was being abducted and raped and the song on the car radio in this dream was Lady in Red. That song makes me feel sick to my stomach to this day. If it's on in a store or something, I have to leave the store.

I can say that Home Sweet Home reminds me of my basement when I was 11 or 12 or something. I really loved that video. The only geographically specific songs I can think of for my life are Side 1 of The Suicidal Tendencies "Lights, Camera, Revolution." I went to visit a friend who loved in Vermont and she and her friends all partied in a barn at one kid's house. You could drink or smoke pot there. The only problem was that there was 1 electrical outlet and there was a boombox glued into it. And that tape was glued in the boombox. So basically, whenever anyone was there, they always listed to it. I was only there for 10 days, but I always think of vermont whenever I hear a song from that album.

Also, about maybe 6 or 7 years ago, I was driving through Bradford, Ontario and the Tragically Hip's Bobcaygeon came on the radio. It was the first time I felt Canadian at all since I moved here. It was pretty surreal for me.

The only one I can really think of is "Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne; it was played at my best friend's brother's funeral.

This song came out just before I was molested, lets just say I became a fan of it shortly after its release



When I turned 12 this song came out, and it kept me from offing myself when I became mentally imbalanced due to both Teenhood and residual problems.



This came out shortly after I managed to curb my anger problems, and actually became my Mood music for a while when I am feeling defiant

Oh a few.


Pretty much the first 3 years of high school. I had this CD and all of the B-sides memorized. I still know all the words.


First few months of college. I had a friend who also knew this song and played it constantly when I was around.


After I moved in with K, a commercial with this song was on a lot.


After I moved away from college and everyone I knew *emo tears*
