Long-ish story...

I got a stupid virus (apparently its pretty common - antimalware doctor) and I had to wipe my computer, re-install windows/etc...

NO biggie, right? right.

Ok so I got the drivers for my webcam from Logitech, except they have new drivers which are windows 7 compatible. These drivers/software SUCK BALLS. I mean it sucks serious balls. No real way to get decent pictures (only three resolution choices), stupid, slow interface, and a 'timer' that you can't shut off. Not to mention flicker hell. So I check Logitech forums, and see that everyone hates this new software, and there are several links to get the old software.

I download the old software and attempt to uninstall the new one.

In my control panel, when I try to uninstall I get a message saying that its gone, do I want to hide it from the list. I click yes. (Bad idea, of course)

I can't do an install cause it tells me that newer software is already installed, and I need to uninstall it first. I do a sys restore to get it to show up on my programs, try uninstalling it again.

No go.

So I try to go through and clean out all the registry files one by one. That goes ok, so I go to delete the actual program files, and it won't let me delete some of them. At this point, my camera shouldn't be working at all, yet it sorta does still work when I tried conquercam, I just couldn't get control of the camera...which means the drivers were still sorta there. This would have been fine for now, but it eventually crashed (which I understand) sooooo

I write Logitech a note asking wtf I can do because not only can I not use the software now, but I can't reinstall the old one either.

I get a reply telling me to download some software and just do a forced uninstall with it.

I do this, yet its still showing up as not being uninstalled, and of course not working.
